Photo Update

I've been busy, busy, busy lately and have sucked at posting on here yet again. Apologies.

My aim at the moment is to take more photos. I'm hoping to get a new camera for Christmas so that I can have a compact one and take it with me everywhere instead of dealing with the huge one I have now. At the moment I pretty much only take photos of the things I've made but I want to start recording much, much more. I managed to remember to take some over Halloween this year (though not many at all) but the rest of these are, again, items I have made to sell in my Etsy shop. Hopefully I'll have a wider range of photos to show off soon.

Anyway, here are some that I've taken over the past few weeks--

Halloween Special!

I'm getting super excited for halloween! Im baking cakes, carving pumpkins and making squash soup at the weekend and cant wait to give out my baked treats to the trick or treaters!!!

No Heat Curl

I decided to try out a no heat curl last night.
My hair is poker straight, flat, really fine and refuses to hold any kind of style at all. If I use a curling iron the curls will fall out within 3 hours no matter what products I use on it.
So I thought the no heat curl would be a bit of a long shot, but any chance to have lovely curly hair is one I'm going to jump on straight away!!!
I found the idea on The Papermama's blog:

The socks were SUPER uncomfortable to sleep on. But I think the result was worth it! For me anyway.
It's been 2 hours and the curls still look the same as when I first took the socks out! Plus it gives me way more volume! I love it!
I might try doing it with some cut up tights next time though......they might be more comfortable for sleeping.
Anyway, heres what the result looked like:

Theres a new arrival in my shop today!
This super cute and super fluffy, orange forest monster!

I found him wandering around in a forest. He was worried that something scary would jump out and get him because he couldn't camouflage himself well enough.
So now he's looking for a lovely new home with someone who will protect him from all things scary!

Stuff My Class Says

I currently work as a teaching assistant in a year 3 class and as a playworker at a pre-school.

The things the kids say highly amuse me.

• "Can we put all these books in the bin Miss? They're DISGUSTING!" - A year 3 students reaction upon finding out the words 'sex' and 'bottom' are listed in the dictionary.

• "If a monster comes into my room and goes 'RAWR', I get out my sword and put him in the bin! He cant get out without a key!" - A 3 yr old talking about bedtime.

• "An alien married a house, then a dolphin married the same house, then they both went into a tornado and died." - Yr 3 English assignment.

Where The Wild Things Are

After watching 'Where The Wild Things Are' yesterday, i felt like i just HAD to make these!!!

Like i said, this one is a Christmas present for someone, but im right in the middle of another one too which will be up for sale in the next day or so.

They're so much fun to make though! I hope they sell so i can make many more ^_^

im baaaack!

so after TWO YEARS of absence......im finally back!!!!

i've been very, very busy with uni and other bits so i haven't been able to keep up to date with my online stuff :(

it was all very sad!

buuuuut, now i am back - on Etsy as well as Folksy!

have a look around my shops and see if there's anything you like.

there's a lot of stuff that was there two years ago, but there's some lovely new things too!

i've started work on some shoes:

I LOVE cotton mary-janes!

soooo comfy.

there's going to be quite a few of these popping up in my shops i do think.

different colours and designs too.

im thinking of doing custom ones too, i shall have to see if people are interested...

im going to have to make myself some of these ones though!!!

"keep your nose to the grindstone"

i went to a clairvoyance evening last night.

i really didnt know what to think, and i guess i still don't =/

my boyfriend had wanted to go to one for a while though, due to his dad dying.

He didnt get a reading, but i did *eeep*

apparently there's an old woman close by me trying to push me and keep me going (im guessing its my great nan) and an old man who smokes a pipe (no idea who that is, her husband maybe?)

the medium was rather lovely about me really.

she said that im a very bright light, will have a life that has a lot to do with colours and that i will follow a very spiritual path. I am to "keep my nose to the grindstone" apparently, as there is a lot more learning to be done, and if i do this, i will have a wonderful life.

i thought that was rather lovely.

it made me smile.

i dont think i have anything to update about shop and making wise.

im busy busy with custom necklaces and shoes.

though a new bat plushie and some new earmuff monsters should be up very soon.

He's a cutie!

I still don't quite know what to make of Folksy.

i've had one sale thus far.

maybe im better off sticking with etsy?

i also think im going to start up doing custom earmuffs.

other things apart from monsters i mean.

i have one person who's going to order some lemon ones. how cute!!!

i'd love some more though. custom things are so fun!!

its like she has reached into mind and put my daydreams down on paper.

i would do anything to own one of her prints.
